G07: ELA Art of Argument: Technology use

Technology today is reaching a critical mass stage where new products and ways of sharing are found and implemented at lightning speeds. There was a time when telling your child that they were not allowed to watch TV or have friends over was a huge punishment. In this modern age, there is a whole bucket list of things that are necessary to control. Television, iPods, smartphones, video games, Internet…the list is staggering.

Student engagement and course evaluations are vital in improving the educational experience. With the growing popularity of AI and remote/hybrid learning, higher education institutions must prioritize meeting the evolving needs of digital learners to succeed.

School districts have spent millions of dollars wiring classrooms, installing smart boards, and purchasing laptops and iPads so that students will have more access to technology. The intention is that all these devices will increase student learning.
But is it possible that the opposite is sometimes true? Could technology in the classroom ever be getting in the way of student learning?

Online sharing within social media sites helps many people stay in touch with friends or connect with new ones. And that may be more important for teenagers than other age groups. Friendships help teens feel supported and play a role in forming their identities. So, it's only natural to wonder how social media use might affect teens.
