Conduct your research using a variety of sources in order to find answers to these guiding questions

1. What is the function of the synthetic product? (what does it do? 
2. What natural resources are used to make the synthetic product?  (Where does it come from originally?)
3. Compare the properties of natural resources to the properties of the synthetic property by completing the following:
   • state of matter,
   • color,
   • toxicity
4. What is the chemical formula of the material that makes up the product?  What atoms make up the chemical formula? 
5. What are the negative and positive impacts to society of making and using the chosen synthetic product? Compare these to making and using a more natural product with a similar function.
